Achilles Tang

The Achilles Tang is one of the most stunning and highly prized surgeonfish in the reef hobby, instantly recognizable by its velvety black body, vivid orange teardrop patch near the tail, and glowing orange highlights on the dorsal and anal fins. This rare species from the Pacific Ocean is both elegant and powerful, making it a true showpiece fish for advanced aquarists.

Achilles Tangs are active grazers and require large aquariums with strong flow, open swimming space, and pristine water conditions. While challenging to keep, their beauty and constant movement make them one of the most rewarding tangs in the hobby.
