Lemonpeel Angelfish (Centropyge flavissima)

The Lemonpeel Angelfish is a stunning dwarf angelfish with a brilliant lemon-yellow body, accented by a blue ring around the eye and blue edging on the fins. Its bold coloration makes it a true showpiece in both reef and fish-only aquariums.

Native to the Indo-Pacific, this active grazer spends much of its day picking at algae and exploring rockwork. While generally hardy, the Lemonpeel can be territorial with other dwarf angels and may nip at certain corals.

  • Scientific Name: Centropyge flavissima

  • Temperament: Semi-aggressive

  • Reef Safe: With caution (may nip at LPS, SPS polyps, or clam mantles)

  • Diet: Omnivore — feed a varied diet of marine algae, spirulina-based foods, mysis shrimp, and high-quality pellets

  • Care Level: Easy to Moderate

  • Max Size: ~5 inches

  • Tank Size: 70+ gallons with plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding

Note: Best kept in mature aquariums with stable parameters. Avoid housing with other dwarf angels unless the system is large enough to establish separate territories.
